Road construction on 5th Street in Olivia is scheduled to begin the week of September 21 and is anticipated to continue for approximately three weeks.
Construction will affect traffic, parking and pedestrian access between the Renville County Courthouse and Government Services Center. Barricades will be placed at the intersections of 5th Street and U.S. Highway 212 and 5th Street and DePue Avenue.
During construction, the 6th Street entrance will be the only entrance and exit for the Courthouse parking lot. The 5th Street entrances will be blocked. Drivers should travel counterclockwise through the parking lot when entering and exiting. Some parking spaces may also be temporarily blocked with cones as construction activities require.
For safety, pedestrians should use the designated north or south crosswalks when crossing 5th Street. Please do not cross directly through the construction area.
Scheduled food trucks will be located on DePue Avenue during construction.
