BRIDGE CLOSURE: CSAH 2 OVER BEAVER CREEK
Bridge 65517 Closed Until Further Notice Due to Structural Deficiencies
OLIVIA, MN – Renville County Public Works announces the immediate closure of Bridge No. 65517, located on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 2 over Beaver Creek. The closure is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice pending the outcome of an additional structural engineering review.
The closure was necessitated by structural deficiencies identified during a routine safety inspection conducted by Renville County Public Works personnel. Out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of public safety, the bridge has been closed to all traffic—including vehicles, pedestrians, and farm equipment—until a thorough structural review can be completed.
Renville County has engaged a structural engineer to perform an in-depth evaluation of the bridge. The results of that review will determine the scope and timeline of any necessary repairs or rehabilitation, and will inform decisions regarding the bridge’s return to service.
Appropriate signage has been posted at the closure location. Motorists and agricultural operators are advised to use alternate routes and should plan accordingly. Visitors traveling to Beaver Falls County Park should be aware that while the park remains accessible, the bridge closure will affect travel routes to park entrances on both sides of the bridge. Visitors are encouraged to use the suggested detour route map attached for guidance on reaching the park. Renville County apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this time.
Replacement is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2026 and will be completed in the summer of 2027. Updates regarding the status of Bridge 65517 and CSAH 2 will be provided as they become available. For additional information, please contact the Renville County Public Works Department.
