Records

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office maintains and manages all records generated by the Sheriff’s Office.  With the proper records request, copies of records are available and may be requested as follows:

Email Record Request

Police Reports:

  • Police reports may be requested in person or in writing as outlined above. Only records belonging to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office can be reviewed. For incidents and reports that were handled by a different agency, contact the appropriate agency directly.
  • Information and reports on cases still under investigation are confidential data and cannot be released.

To Request a Report:

  • Provide a report number (if available), date, time, location of the incident, name(s) of the person(s) involved.

Report Copy Cost:

  • Fees for reports are charged according to the Sheriff’s Office Fee Schedule.
  • If paying in person via cash, the exact amount is necessary. The Sheriff’s Office generally does not keep money on site and oftentimes cannot make change.
  • Checks and money orders are payable to: Renville County Sheriff’s Office.

Records Check:

  • We are no longer able to run driving records, criminal histories, etc.
  • Personal background checks may be obtained by visiting the Minnesota BCA web site. (Fees may apply.)

📍 Locations:
        • County Road 55/160th Street is closed from County Road 52/810th Avenue to County Road 81.
        • County Road 61/210th Street is closed one mile north of CSAH 17 and one mile south of CSAH 17/790th Avenue.
        • County Road 60/130th Street is closed one mile from State Hwy 212 north to 840th Avenue.
        • CSAH 3/420th Street is closed from CSAH 5 to the Minnesota River.
