A Job in the Sheriff’s Office
Occasionally, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office looks to hire qualified candidates to fill vacancies in the various divisions of the department.

A Firearm Permit
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office offers two separate types of firearm permits:
Permit to Purchase
This permit is available from the Sheriff’s Office to residents of Bird Island, Morton, and anyone else who lives outside of an incorporated city in Renville County.
If you live in any other city in Renville County, you must obtain this permit from your local police department.
Permit to Carry
This permit is issued exclusively by the Sheriff’s Office, regardless of where you live in Renville County. By statute, a Permit to Carry is not available through local police departments.
A Special Vehicle Use Permit
A Special Vehicle Use Permit is required for the use and operation of all-terrain vehicles, mini trucks, utility task vehicles, and motorized golf carts on designated Renville County roadways.
